P\u0103rintele Ion Popa s-a n\u0103scut la 25 martie 1950, \u00een localitatea M\u0103t\u0103saru, jude\u021bul D\u00e2mbovi\u021ba, \u00een familia unor buni credincio\u0219i. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Cursurile primare \u0219i gimnaziale le-a urmat \u00een cadrul \u0219colii din localitate. \u00cen anul 1971, a absolvit Seminarul Teologic din Bucure\u0219ti, iar \u00een anul 1972, s-a c\u0103s\u0103torit cu domni\u0219oara Vasilica Purc\u0103rea, cu care are trei copii. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A fost hirotonit \u00eentru preot, \u00een anul 1972, pe seama Parohiei Tom\u0219ani, unde a slujit p\u00e2n\u0103 \u00een anul 1985, c\u00e2nd a fost transferat la Parohia M\u0103t\u0103saru II, pension\u00e2ndu-se \u00een anul 2015.
